Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that the website of IGU Congress Tunis 2008 is now online and accessible under the following address: http://www.igc-tunis2008.com/

This site is divided into two parts:

• - a static part that includes the scientific program, the excursions, the social activities and the congress venue;
• - a dynamic part that enables the participants to register online, to register to the different congress elements and to make hotel booking and to pay for the participation fees (for those who choose this payment method).

For the moment, the static part is totally accessible online. Yet, in the dynamic part only the static elements are accessible online and the others will be available soon. It is worth noting that the static part will be regularly updated till August 2008 so that we give extra details concerning the program and the welcoming conditions, etc. The second circular is going to be printed. It is issued in the form of a printed book available in two weeks. However, a PDF version will be available online a week before.

As you note the website is launched with delay. We apologize for that. We will do our best to keep the geographical community informed. We will be ready to answer any queries.

The information concerning this will be sent by email to the Chairs of IGU Commissions and taskforces and to the presidents of the National Committees for IGU. The second circular will be mailed.

We hope that the program will appeal to the geographical community. We are at your disposal for extra details that help to ameliorate our project and contribute to the implementation of IGU programs and. Our purpose is to satisfy the international geographical community in general and the IGU in particular. Please accept warm greetings.
